Good morning
Do you have any information as to what happened to Thomas the earl of lancasters remains after Fryston hall was demolished. I believe up to that point they had been buried in the grounds
Thank you
Mark Ellwood
Hi Mark
I have written all I know about Thomas of Lancaster on my website under the article entitled Airedale and its Environs.

My grandmother lived in Fryston and had a shop across from the Pit, her name was Maud Brace and she had 15 children
Hi
I think that shop is now a private house. So much history about Fryston village!

Hopefully this question reaches you……my friend David Waddington has wrote a new book about Fryston Hall and it’s surrounding area. It’s called Pit-folk and Peers. Recently I went to look for what remains of the Estate and found the old stables. I was wondering whether you knew who now own the stables and if it was possible to go visit them?
Is Wheldale Lodge on airedale drive one the Original gate houses for Fryston Hall & if so is there a similar lodge on ferrybridge side coming off sheepwalk Lane, Thanks in advance
Not sure about that.
Fryston Lane, which leads off Sheepwalk Lane at Holmefields leads up to the other gates. Beside which there is a lodge cottage. I expect it is still there.
My Father lived in Fryston Village and used to go from there through Water Fryston to visit his Grandmother who lived in the laundry house at the Farm.
Hope this helps.
